We love our community, we love making, and we’re bringing them together for a special charity event.
Over 24 hours we will attempt to make a record-breaking 120 high-quality, hand-knitted garments that will go on sale during FHFW (at at Clothes for Causes, 96 Dartmouth Road) and beyond. A selection of the garments will also feature in the catwalk show.
All proceeds will go to One Girl, a charity that supports girls’ empowerment and education in Sierra Leone.
We need you!
We’re looking for as many volunteers as possible to make this event happen. We will be arm knitting – reusing old textiles and yarns to make high-quality finished pieces. There will be arm knitting workshops in the run-up to the event so you can participate even if you have no previous knitting experience. It’s easy!
We are asking for donations of old t-shirts and blankets that can be repurposed into yarn, along with any languishing chunky yarns that you can part with.

This is a charity event, so all forms of sponsorship are welcome: refreshments for the troops, yarn, music, sweeties, space and publicity to name a few.
